So far I have given you a view of knitting blogs but, sometimes its nice to listen to knitting talk so your fingers can stay busy on your latest project instead of being distracted by all the internet has to offer. Podcasts can be the answer.
This is a quick overview, not a history of the podcast as an audio format, however I can tell you that podcasts are for the most part free to listen to and are created by everyday folks who have a personal opinion they want to express. Some podcasts are created by professionals, or are broadcast radio recorded and released on the internet after the initial broadcast. More specific information on the format podcasts can be found at this wikipedia page.
Like a radio show, podcasts are audio files about all sorts of different topics and the main distribution is the internet. From knitting, to gardening, or the latest CBC news you can find a podcast for all tastes. The great this about these free files is you don’t have an ” i-device” to download to, you can listen right off your computer at home. So give a few of these a chance to make an impression;

Sit and Chat like having a front porch visit all about knitting.
Jenny and Nicole struggle with their massive stashes, and their love of new yarn. Good reviews and interesting chat.
These are a few that I listen to, plus some of the top matches as voted by listeners. There are so many more out there too, just like blogs it’s hard to stop at just one. Take a listen and find out what the hosts themselves listen to, they may have a podcast recommendation right in the show. Of course, if you search on your own, leave a comment here to recommend your favorites to our guild members!
Get out there and investigate a great free resource. Enjoy!
